Adolescents and Teens specialist

Working with adolescents and teens has become ‘my reason’.

I entered the mental health field with the goal of working with adults, but I soon discovered that my true passion lies in working with adolescents and teens. My own life experiences have made me particularly relatable to this age group. I understand the challenges of teenage years—feeling left out, struggling with self-esteem and identity, and dealing with the absence of a parent due to street violence. I also know the experience of being adopted and later going through a parental divorce. What makes me relatable is that I’ve faced intense pressure to succeed as a teenager, the fear of disappointing both myself and others. I’ve felt the sting of judgment and the isolation of loneliness. Most significantly, I know what it’s like to hit rock bottom, to experience severe depression, and to feel trapped in negative thinking with no apparent way out.

However, I also know what it’s like to overcome these challenges and experience healing. I’ve seen firsthand what better mental health looks and feels like because I’ve put in the hard work and made necessary changes in my own life.

In my journey, I’ve come to realize that I’ve been the expert in my own life all along, and I believe the same is true for my clients. They may just need guidance and support in navigating life’s challenges. I aim to create a safe and supportive space for youth where they can explore their struggles and work towards finding solutions. Life is undeniably difficult, but with the right support, I believe young people can overcome their challenges and thrive.
